Located in the heart of Center City, Philadelphia, the Pennsylvania Convention Center is a world-class venue that attracts nationally and internationally recognized events and exhibitions to the Greater Philadelphia area. The Center, one of the region’s major economic drivers completed a $786 million construction project, on time and on budget in March 2011. The ROZ Group provided all strategic communications for the project during its 5-year construction process. A major part of our charge was the ongoing positioning of the CEO, Ahmeenah Young, a rare leader in the industry as an African American woman leading a major center consisting of $1 million square feet of saleable space. Additionally, working with our graphic design associate, Alusiv we re-branded the center, creating a new logo mark and re-positioning the center “in the heart of it all.” Our goal in the re-branding was to eliminate the Industrial Age perception and welcome the new facility into the 21st century as a state-of-the-art convention center that is technologically equipped to be a place to convene superior international thought. The Center is also LEED certified, a true benefit in this era of ecological soundness. This project was an example of the ability of our team to communicate complex construction/engineering topics to a broad public.

The RO Group also oversaw the process of selecting an event-planning firm to host a two-part opening celebration. We drafted and managed the RFP process and then managed the firm to completion.
